The blue Jerusalemite ID-card

All Israelis carry Blue IDs. This applies to all Palestinians holding Israeli passports as well as those considered by Israel to be living under occupation in Jerusalem since 1967.
When Israel occupied Jerusalem in 1967 the city’s inhabitants were previously under Jordanian rule. Israel took a census and for those who were counted and included in the senses Israel granted them Israeli (blue) ID cards. I was counted and I was issued a blue ID. In 1983 I decided to go to study abroad. I was issued a travel document by the state of Israel to travel with. After graduating with a masters degree from Illinois State University in 1988 I was denied the right to return to my hometown and birthplace Jerusalem. I am one of thousands of people who traveled abroad seeking education and lost their blue ID. Why am I denied the right of return to reside and live among my family and friends in the city that I love Jerusalem. Please make sure to spread the word around and let us here your opinion about such a human rights violation.
